Save the Pond

This year we created a Pond Task Force to concentrate on the short and long-term needs of our pond. The pond has been in desperate need of an underwater aeration system. The oxygen levels have consistently deteriorated the past few years and the fish population has declined as a result. We also created a Save the Pond campaign to fund this project and future projects.

GREAT NEWS — our pond is starting its journey back to health this summer! The response to our Save-the-Pond campaign to fund the installation of a diffuser aeration system has been truly outstanding and we have surpassed our initial goal. It is thanks to the incredible generosity of our Crest neighbors below. 

The extra funds are held in our Save-the-Pond account and will help us with any expense we incur specifically for the pond: any overage for this project, a year or two of electricity for the aeration, consolidating and re-doing our signage, removing some of the overgrowth/muck, or other projects to preserve the pond. It is possible as the Save the Pond fund grows with other donations that we could do some needed dredging.
